Vienna is beautiful and famous for its history but charming and exciting even nowadays and for its impressive architecture and strategic position it is justly called the Danube metropolis.
Danube river flows through Vienna and by river boat you can get directly to Bratislava, which is approx. 60 km away. Bratislava and Vienna are conveniently connected by trains and busses that run approx. every hour and will get you to your destination.
Bratislava offers cheaper accommodation than in Vienna.
When visiting Austria’s largest city you should definitely explore its dominants such as the Parliament, St. Steven’s cathedral, Historical museum of arts and crafts, town hall, Hofsburg’s palace, Carlskirche, Belveder palace – palace of Eugen Savoy, Schonbrunn – Hofsburg’s residence with huge gardens and the oldest ZOO in the world.
